Soma Basu is a writer and journalist based in Delhi. Soma Basu was a Fellow at Reuters Institute of Journalism at University of Oxford. A graduate from St. Xavier’s College Kolkata and a post graduate from Indian Institute of Mass Communication. She has achieved number of prestigious journalist awards
- Received the Young Environment Journalist Award 2011 from the Centre for Media Studies and Panos South Asia
- Won the competition for best-published articles ‘Reporting on the fate of victims of armed violence’ from the Press Institute of India and the International Committee of the Red Cross 2012
- Awarded the United Nations Correspondents Association Global Prize for coverage of Climate Change, 2013
- Received the Kurt Schork Memorial Award 2017 for International Journalism
